WHITEOUT for Thursday

WEAR WHITE ON THURSDAY! NO REGRETS TOURNAMENT- GAME 1

On Thursday afternoon, the Senior basketball team is kicking off the Quinn Keast No Regrets Tournament, and the whole school is highly encouraged to wear white and show their support. The white effect is in order to “whiteout” the stands to show solidarity and intimidate the opposition. The unity will be great to see on Thursday, and will demonstrate our far-reaching school spirit. Students are encouraged to wear their white outfits for the entire day, however, this is not a Civvies day, as students can only wear white, if they choose to not wear their uniforms.

The senior boys have been off to an unbelievable start so far. They are undefeated in seven games and have successfully defeated the number one team in the province, GW Graham, essentially making them the number one team in the province. This honour is one the coaches, players, and school do not take lightly, and we intend to keep this number one standing all the way through until the end of the season.

Ben Basran, a sharpshooter on the squad, offered up the following quote in regards to the season thus far,

“We are playing and growing very well as a team so far. It is still so early in the season, but we are looking very promising for the future. Thursday is a big day for all of us, and it really excites us seeing the whole school getting into it. For example, in the overtime Handsworth win, the crowd hype played a huge part in that victory. We look forward to the whiteout on Thursday and hopefully we can stay undefeated.”

So remember Collingwood, all white on Thursday all day. Let’s go help these boys get another W to start the tournament, and keep their undefeated streak alive.
