As you may recall, back in October, Collingwood Film Club’s Room 204 Productions participated in Mulgrave’s annual 48-hour film festival called Zoomfest.
A few weeks later, the Zoomfest website posted a list of films that were nominated for various categories and Collingwood film club’s short film, The Operator was on that list!
The following weekend, the film squad dressed up in their best red-carpet attire and headed to Mulgrave for the Zoomfest awards ceremony night. We were truly impressed by how Mulgrave turned its theatre and lobby into an official Oscars-type atmosphere (there even was a huge ice sculpture!).
After a night of congratulatory applause, loud cheers of proud accomplishment, and way too many rock and radio puns, The Operator came home with 2nd place for Best Screenplay and 1stplace for Best Art Direction! Needless to say, the team was extremely proud of their accomplishments, especially as Zoomfest first-timers!
