Senior Girls Field Hockey Wrap-up

Updated: Jan 27, 2023

The Collingwood Senior Girl’s Field Hockey Team has finished their season capturing third place in Provincials. This is a fantastic and rewarding achievement!

When asked what some of the key highlights of the season were, Emily Bruk said, “Definitely winning the banner for the gym and our team’s first tournament hosted at Brentwood called the Friendship Cup. The team really bonded and we all got to know each other during this tournament.”

Though they didn’t finish in first as they had hoped, Bruk was more than happy with the team’s success.

“We did our very best. It all came down to the last minute, and they were an equal team to us… it could have gone either way. We did great and I’m proud.”

Kyla Jarrar, the team’s captain described the season with all smiles. “[It was] fun with the new players and cool to see where they fit into the team’s dynamics.” It seems that she knew they had a good team from the beginning.

When asked what it was like to be captain of a senior team, Jarrar explained that “You really have to be a leader on the field and off, being there whenever other players had questions or concerns, and leading by example.”

Jarrar’s favourite moments of the season were scoring a scoop goal while playing Brentwood and winning third in Provincials.

All in all, the Senior Girls Field Hockey team had a successful season filled with exciting accomplishments!
