Trudeau and The Liberal Party of Canada have just swept the polls in the federal election. With 184 seats, the Liberals now have a majority government which is extraordinary because not a soul was expecting such a result. It was universally recognized that Trudeau was likely going to be the new Prime Minister of Canada, but few believed that it would ever reach a majority. Pam Goldsmith-Jones won the West Vancouver- Sunshine Coast- Sea to Sky Country riding, but to everyone’s surprise, she won by a profoundly large margin, nearly doubling that of the runner-up’s, John Weston, vote count. The new instated government is Liberal, but now the true test is to wait and see what they do with their newfound power. That will be the defining feature of our country.
