5 courses, 3 per day, each for an hour and 30 mins. An exhaustive list of homework to do over the weekends along with studying for the AP Exams. Stress has reached its peaks.. As we approached the beginning of module 3, many are excited for the new schedule and the change from 3 courses every single day, to 1 course stretched out throughout the week. The “5” schedule allowed more opportunities for students to participate in extracurriculars, as well as work with different people in different environments. Although these aspects were great, there rose many challenges with balancing out academics, especially for students with APs, extracurriculars, and outside of school activities. This created many more struggles for students. Over the past 2 weeks, as the module slowly comes to an end, I have noticed a collective feeling of fatigue becoming more common. Summer break is approaching and it’s clear that many students cannot wait for their last module to end and the beginning of Summer to start. Despite Summer break not happening till June, there are many activities that you can do to make your module 3 more amusing and stress-relieving.
#1: Go Outdoors
Go outside and enjoy a nice sunny day with your loved ones. There are so many different activities to do outside, such as having a picnic on a grassy field. Take that breath of fresh air and immerse yourself in nature as you enjoy some fizzy lemonade or chocolate covered strawberries. Another way to enjoy the outdoors is to wake up early to watch the sunrise or sunset, taking in the beautiful array of colours. You can also do activities outside that will raise your adrenaline levels such as going on a hike or a run, or playing sports with your friends like football.
#2: Redecorate and organize your room
Sometimes, in order to clear out your mind, you must clean out your room as well. Spending time decorating your room and organizing it can make it look more appealing and clean. You can find all sorts of room decor ideas on pinterest or by googling a specific setup. . This room makeover will make you feel happier when you walk into it.
3#: Find a new movie/tv show or listen to a new song
If you’re looking for something less mobile, you can cozy up in your pjs, grab some snacks and search for a new movie to entertain you in the evening. Whether that be an adventure film or a comedy, the genres are endless. If you’re opting towards listening to a new song, you should try clicking through your recommended songs in your music library to see if any of them grab your interest. Watching a movie on a car ride or listening to songs while you sleep is still a great way to calm your mind and help you relax.
To sum up, the possibilities are endless and sometimes we all need a break, whether it’s from school, work, or extracurriculars. Taking care of yourself should be one of your top priorities and making sure you are okay mentally and physically is very important. By all means, you should try to find different activities to meet your needs and wants, and take advantage of the breaks you have in your life because you never know when the opportunity may present itself again. This upcoming module, try new things, open yourself up to different experiences, and, above all, have a little bit of fun.
